Let your fish and shrimp decide which leaves they like the most by adding a variety of leaves. Different leaf shapes and sizes can be useful when establishing a sense of scale in the aquarium. BOILING BOTANICALS
Boiling botanical products for 10-15 minutes will sanitize the material and encourage rapid sinking. Epp 'n Flow Aquariums processes many botanical products through sorting, boiling, and baking prior to sending, but it is still recommended to boil dried natural materials before using in the aquarium.
LEAF LITTER
Add up to 3 leaves per 10 gallons at one time to acheive desired tannin concentration or appearance. Add new leaves biweekly and replace or substitute with a different botanical product when mostly decomposed in the aquarium.
