Terminalia catappa (IAL) is probably the most popular leaf litter used in the aquarium industry today for fish health and breeding purposes. It is an excellent source of tannins that lower the pH and provide antifungal and antibiotic properties in the aquarium. It's a great supplement when driftwood is no longer releasing tannins. Safe for shrimp, bettas, softwater fish, and biofilm/ algae grazers.
