Catappa Bark is from the Indian Almond tree found in
✔ The bark is a long-lasting source of the same beneficial tannins and biofilm as the popular Catappa leaves (IAL).
✔ Bark tubes are great shelters for cherry shrimp, snails, and bottom feeders such as Bristlenose Ancistrus, Otocinclus, Corydoras, and other catfish. The bark also makes ideal shelters for isopods and for use in bioactive terrariums with reptiles and amphibians (herps).
✔ The tannins released by the bark may encourage breeding behaviours of softwater fish, like Betta spp., South American & West African cichlids, tetras, and rasboras.
> Preparation
Aquatic: Boil for 30min or soak overnight to sink. Replace when decomposed (1 year).
Terrestrial: Rinse briefly.
