BOILING BOTANICALS
Boiling botanical products for 10-15 minutes will sanitize the material and encourage rapid sinking. Epp 'n Flow Aquariums processes many botanical products through sorting, boiling, and baking prior to sending, but it is still recommended to boil dried natural materials before using in the aquarium.
PODS 'n BARK
Add pods or bark strips 1-2 pieces each week, to acheive desired tannin concentration levels or appearance. Replace or substitute for a different botanical product when decomposed.
