Catappa leaves are probably the most popular leaf litter used in the aquarium industry today for fish health and breeding purposes. They are an excellent source of tannins that lower the pH and provide antifungal and antibiotic properties for fish and invertebrates in the aquarium. Providing a great supplement when driftwood is nolonger releasing tannins. Safe for shrimp, bettas, softwater fish, and biofilm/ algae grazers. Also known as Terminalia catappa, or IAL. You will receive whole leaves.
Add 1-2 leaves per 10 gallons and replenish biweekly or as needed.
