ON the SURFACE
Liam Epp, the Founder of Epp 'n Flow Aquariums, is very familiar with aquatic ecosystems. His education includes graduate studies in wetland ecology where he worked with aquatic insect populations and mosquito control methods. During his undergraduate studies, he worked with zebrafish genetics and large centralized aquarium systems. While attending university, Liam maintained aquariums in schools, restaurants, other businesses, and private homes as a manager for small and large aquarium shops. He has been keeping fish for over 20 years.
Epp 'n Flow Aquariums currently runs a fishroom full of planted aquariums, where Liam keeps and breeds smaller soft water fish and invertebrates. The local aquarist community and this website provide opportunities to share successful breeding projects and plant propagation with other enthusiastic hobbyists. Epp 'n Flow Aquariums aims to supply enthusiasts with proven tools used in successful fishkeeping.
Liam's aquarium philosophy stems from replicating natural conditions to meet the specific demands of the inhabitants. In this regard, an aquatic microcosm aims to represent a smaller version of the aquatic system in a container. To create a microcosm, nearby natural resources, including sediments and leaves, are combined with local flora and fauna for observation, akin to building an aquarium biotope.
Epp 'n Flow Aquariums has complied aquarium video footage here on YouTube: YouTube channel: Magic Microcosms.
Epp 'n Flow Aquariums embraces the tidal nature of balance amidst change and how it relates to ecosystem management. The outgoing (Ebb) and incoming (Flow) tidal phases are a reminder of natural processes occurring through time.
